On April 29, 2008, 14 black leaders held a pow-wow with Sarah Palin to voice their anger over the fact that she employs no black people, reports The Nation. Palin, for her part, sort of shrugged and said, “Stop being uppity,” or something to that effect.
According to reports, Gwen Alexander, the president of the African-American Historical Society of Alaska, said that Palin has made it clear that she had no intention to hire any minority staffers.
Bishop Dave Thomas, senior pastor at a minority church, stated that Sarah’s administration excluded black business owners from the Alaskan oil and gas pipeline board.
She also was the first Alaskan governor to not recognize the Juneteenth celebration of the emancipation proclamation.
Maybe if more blacks played hockey she wouldn’t be so racist?
