So here’s the thing: we have the Branchflower report. The whole world has the Branchflower report. The findings are spelled out as clear as can be.
How then does Gov. Palin think she can get away with telling straight up lies about what the report actually says?
ABC News: “Palin Makes Troopergate Assertions that Are Flatly False.”
At one point this weekend Palin said:
“Well, I’m very very pleased to be cleared of any legal wrongdoing,” Palin said, “any hint of any kind of unethical activity there. Very pleased to be cleared of any of that.”
ABC News: “That’s just not the case…”
Later she was asked:
“Governor, did you abuse your power?”
To which Palin replied:
“No…”
Finding One of the independent investigator’s report reads, and I quote:
“For the reasons explained in section IV of this report, I find that Governor Sarah Palin abused her power by violating Alaska Statute 39.52.110(a) of the Alaska Executive Branch Ethics Act…”
This goes beyond trying to blur an ethical line with the findings of this investigation. Sarah Palin lives in Never-Never-Land.
10/13 UPDATE: The Atlantic’s Andrew Sullivan, citing the same ABC fact checking as I do, explains the Never-Never-Land idea:
“Palin’s lies are not like most political lies. They are not spin or vagueness or misdirection or clever use of words. They are simply statements that what has been empirically shown to be true is false, or vice-versa. They are denials of basic reality.”

we already knew she lived in never-never land, a place where all women play the flute (cough talent portion cough) and pitbulls run hither and thither wearing lipstick.
