The cookie diet is right up there with some of my other favorite waist slimmers like the orgasm diet and the whiskey and marijuana diet. Meaning-it doesn’t exists.
Delightfully named, the cookie diet is really an exercise in wishful thinking. And sadly-this sort of exercise doesn’t burn any calories.
All the rage in Hollywood (are any fads not?), this diet was created by Dr. Siegal. His cookies cost $70 for 42 cookies (seven day supply) and are just 90 calories each. They are not Oreos, chocolate chip and ooey gooey fudge niceties.
A reviewer from the San Jose Mercury Times describes eating them by stating: ”One bite and I nearly gagged. This is so not a cookie! It has a strange, spongy texture (the first thing on the ingredient list is water) and a chemical aftertaste. There’s also an odd coating left on my tongue after I swallowed my bites.”
Yummy! Even the web site admits they taste BAD, saying “delicious cookies make people fat.” Dr. Siegal’s are made from certain food proteins designed to make you less hungry.
The diet itself consists of six cookies per day plus lean meat and one cup of vegetables for dinner. The total calorie count is 800 calories per day, so you probably will lose weight.
