Former VP and Eco-god Al Gore endorsed Obama Monday night in Michigan. Along with rallying the democratic vote, his appearance will definitely pull in the green voters and did a lot to assure people that Bam will care about the planet.
“It means a lot, obviously,” Barack said. “We’ve had ongoing conversations about a whole host of issues, a lot of them have revolved around issues of climate change and energy and the environment. He’s provided good political advice.”
Obama=1,000 points.
On the McCain front, the Republican has called for lifting the federal moratorium on offshore oil drilling for states that want to permit it in order to drive the price of oil and subsequently food down.
“We must embark on a national mission to eliminate our dependence on foreign oil and reduce greenhouse gases through the development of alternate energy sources,” he said at a press conference at his campaign headquarters.
What this can be translated to is=”I am giving into big oil companies for a short term resolution at the gas pumps, that will have a long term effect on our environment and send a steady stream of pollution into our oceans and wetlands killing marine life.”
